In 2010, Guy Williams was elected as Judge to the 148th District Court where he presided over Felony Criminal Cases, Civil Cases and Family Law Cases. Presiding Judge, Nueces County Board of District Judges; Presiding Judge; Veterans Court; Chairman, Juvenile Board of Directors.
Just out of High School in 1968, Guy Williams joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC). He is a combat Vietnam Veteran and received a Purple Heart for wounds received in the Vietnam War. Guy Williams is a member of a military order of Purple Heart, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Mr. Williams has served as a judge advocate for the Disabled American Veterans and coached a high school Mock Trial team, teaching trial techniques.
Guy Williams has special qualifications and knowledge for defending criminal cases. He has first-hand experience in conducting felony investigations and working as a federal investigator. As a Special Agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), he graduated Honor Agent from Agent Basic School, was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of an overseas office in three years; was awarded a Top Secret Clearance; conducted felony investigations and foreign counterintelligence (FCI) operations for the Navy, USMC, and Department of Defense; acted as liaison with command; conducted felony crime scene examinations; supervised undercover sources; provided training to Navy and USMC security personnel; was certified as a firearms and unarmed self-defense instructor; assisted in prosecution of cases with the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) office and U.S. Attorney's office; and trained with and served on United States Secret Service details protecting presidential candidates.
Four years Guy Williams served as a Special Agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), Graduated Honor Agent from Agent basic school.
As a Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division (IRSCID), he investigated tax evasion and failure-to-file investigations, conducted interviews and interrogations, developed leads, acted as a liaison with local and federal law enforcement agencies, conducted operations to identify suspected narcotics dealers evading taxes and assisted in the prosecution of cases with the U.S. Attorney's Office.
A private practice attorney with more than three decades of experience, Guy Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice graduating Magna Cum Laude (with high honors) from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. Guy Williams earned a law degree from the South Texas College of Law by working full time and attending law school at night. Guy Williams has 33 years of trial and appellate experience in both criminal and civil law. He has tried cases in both state and federal trial courts and has won appeals in the highest courts in Texas in both the criminal and civil areas of law, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Texas Supreme Court.
Guy Williams handles criminal defense matters ranging from driving while intoxicated (DWI) to capital murder to white collar crime throughout Texas.
